Montpellier, the capital of the department, is considered as a young and dynamic city, because of the number of students in the city. Since the ninth century, the city is known for its spice trade. You can spend hours shopping in the many luxury boutiques of the old centre of the city of Montpellier. You can relax on a terrace at one of the many sunny terraces.
