The former region of Aquitaine is located on the Atlantic coast, known as the Silver Coast which symbolizes the Médoc, the Bassin d'Arcachon, the Landes and the Basque Coast. Limousin is situated in the Massif Central and is one of the greenest regions of France. The region is named after the ancient city Limoges, a city of art en history. A visit to the House of Carpet Weaving takes you back in time and be acquainted with the ancient tradition. When your are on holidays near the river Corrèze, you can enjoy various water sports. A naturel park you must see is the "Parc Naturel Régional de Millevaches" situated in the hearth of the Limousin. Millevaches does not mean thousand cows, but thousand springs. The park is covering an area of more than 3,300 km2 and is extending over the départments of the Corrèze, Creuse and Haute-Vienne. This huge granite plateau is highlighted by the 976 meter high mountain Bessou.



The region of Poitou-Charentes is located on the Atlantic Ocean and an ideal destination for an active or relaxing holiday. During your stay you will discover historical monuments, Romanesque buildings and various cities of Art and History. Cities you should not miss are La Rochelle, Royan and especially the islands Ile de Ré and Ile d'Oléron. The Ile de Ré is nicknamed Ré La Blanche, because the houses are white. Do you like beach holidays? Then you will love spending a holiday in Poitou–Charentes.
